Another article is devoted to bike tricks or tricks on MTB (MountainBike). Who knows, they can still be useful to someone, for example, in order to surprise the surrounding people, and at the same time to communicate, there, to meet. And for someone purely for themselves it is pleasant to jump, there, to have some fun.
Bicycle tricks are suitable where there are few walking people and driving cars, for example, some playground is small. It should also be borne in mind that in order to perform tricks, you must have a long experience of cycling, at least one year, when you are already holding on to the bike firmly enough. It’s like a GTA game where the more you ride the bike, the less you fall off it. For example, when performing tricks for at least three years, I have never fallen down, except for isolated cases with minor injuries. Don’t believe me? That’s your business. I also recommend getting a little pumped up, since you will need physical strength to perform many tricks. I also note that all these tricks, which are written about below, have been tried / studied by me personally, so I will not lie. I do not like this business, even if the truth is not passed on to a person for joy. Better a bitter truth than a sweet lie. But let’s not talk about philosophy for now. All the same, we are talking about tricks on a bicycle 🙂 So, let’s get started!
Preparation: The bike should preferably be mountain or semi-mountain. It is imperative (!) With a rear brake on the handle and that it works in full. Wheel rims must be double. In short, the bike must be strong and in good working order, otherwise it can bend at you on the first descent. And be sure to lock the front shock absorber if it works for you.
Action: First, choose small stairs, for example, 3-4 steps. Drive up to the stairs while standing, slightly bent your legs for shock absorption, because you will be shaken hard as you descend. Feet should be parallel to each other on the pedals. The speed should be low: 5 km / h will be enough. And be sure (!) Make sure that there are no people below. As soon as you find yourself on the very stairs, tip your body weight back and hold the rear brake so that the descent is not very fast. If you descended without problems, try descending the same ladder a few more times. If everything is ok, look for a ladder with five rungs and do the same method with it. Then try a ladder with six rungs and so on. It is advisable to practice more on small stairs. I do not advise you to go straight to the high stairs, because just a mistake will not seem like a little. Ladders do not forgive mistakes 🙂 It is better to ride a hundred times on small stairs than to fall once on a large.
Preparation: You can choose any bike, but always with large wheels and not very old to be. Ideally, it is better to choose a road bike, it is just the same with large wheels. A smooth road is also welcome! And if the bike has speeds, we set almost the maximum speed, for example, if there are 3 speeds on the left, and 7 on the right, then we leave it as it is on the left, and set 6 or 5 on the right.
Action: Riding without hands is performed at speed, and the higher the speed, the less likely it is to fall. The minimum is 10 km / h. Go and try to let go of the steering wheel, just do not take your hands far away. And just a little, if you begin to dodge to the side, immediately grab the steering wheel back. In this case, as in any other attempt to perform a trick, the main thing is practice. It will be a little scary for a start, but then you will get used to it. And all accidental side turns can be adjusted with your knees.
Willie is when you pull out the front wheel on a bike, as if you get up on a goat, only at the same time you also go. In other words, Willie. riding on the rear wheel.
Preparation: For this you need to be physically fit. The bike should be fast. We set the speed to average: let’s say, if there are 3 of them on the left, we put it on 2, and on the right, if there are 7, we set it on 3 or 4. It is important here that it is convenient to pull Willie out. The saddle should be lowered, but not to the very bottom. Although. If you are in the subject of being like a grasshopper, so be it!))) The road is better to be perfectly flat, preferably a little uphill. I also recommend a working rear brake as he will save you if you suddenly start to fall back.
Action: To ride Willie must learn to balance. Pull the steering wheel sharply towards you and press your foot into the pedal. These two steps must be performed simultaneously. It didn’t work. it doesn’t matter. Try again, and again, until you can keep your balance. It is advisable to catch the balance immediately, because if you catch him accelerating, Willie will be short-lived. And if you are bent to the side, use your knees. Let’s say it is leaning to the left. pull your knee to the right. And by the way, while riding, you should stretch your arms and your backside too, but be sure to stay seated on the saddle. And if you feel that the situation is getting worse every time, no problem. This is normal for everyone. And that means that you are just tired. Relax for an hour or two, then practice some more. In general, it usually takes a month and a half to master Willie, but someone is lucky faster. In this case, the main thing is desire and perseverance.
Tip: In order not to fall back, you should master the skill of jumping off the pedals to the ground when pulling out the wheel. Happened? Wonderful! Now you can master Willie without fear of falling on your back. Only the saddle for this should be raised for now, otherwise you may not have time to jump off your feet and fall on your back.
The most common mistakes when learning to ride Willie
Fear. Confidence is required here. And the more it is, the easier it will be to master riding on the rear wheel. And holding your finger on the brake will give you even more confidence in this matter.
As few jerky movements as possible. Willie should run smoothly and easily.
Do not bend your arms: Willie should only ride with straight arms.

Bunny hop or jumping on / over an obstacle is desirable not only for stunt enthusiasts. It is also useful purely for driving, for example, when you are in a hurry somewhere and you need to jump onto the curb at speed.
Preparation: The strength of the bike matters, as does the strength of the wheels. The weight of the bike should be small, no more than 12 kg. Ideally, the bike should be a trick bike, for example, for street or dirt. However, the Bannik on the mountainside is no exception, if it is not very heavy.
Action: Bunny hop is done at a speed of 10-20 km / h. When approaching an obstacle, we get up and raise the front wheel. And the higher you lift it, the better. Pull the wheel out, and as soon as it is over the curb, push the steering wheel away from you with your hands forward, preferably 45 degrees up, and at the same time bend your legs to let the rear wheel rise too. Did not work out? No problem! The more you practice, the better the trick will be. It is better to practice through a string or choose some small border so that it is not so critical if something goes wrong.

Once you have mastered the technique of detaching the front wheel from the asphalt and balancing “in separation”, it is not difficult to cope with it. Having torn the wheel off the asphalt, the rider needs to try to release the brakes a little and try to drive a little.
Willie‘s speed must be extremely low. Yes, and everything must be done extremely carefully, otherwise there is a risk of falling over on your back. For example, you take a wheel off the asphalt, release the brake, drive through 1 / 4–1 / 2 of a wheel turn, press on the brake, keep your balance for a few seconds, release the brake again and drive on, etc.
In this trick, balance is maintained with the knees. You need to catch balance at the moment when the take-off is carried out, otherwise it will not work to drive a lot on one wheel.
During the performance of this trick, in no case should you slide off the saddle, otherwise fall onto your back. Hands should be kept one hundred percent outstretched, straight.
Preparation for training
Before thinking about performing simple tricks, it is worth remembering your riding experience. For newbies, as a rule, performing even ordinary tricks is not always possible.
Higher risk of falls. Before you start learning how to do tricks on a bike, you need to ride confidently. Recommended little experience of riding a bike should not be less than 1 year. It is worth taking care of your own physical form.

It’s the same with the front wheel. The technique is identical. You jerk off the rear wheel, the foot is pressed into the brake, the body of the rider is deflected back. It should be done very carefully, otherwise you can fly over the steering wheel.
