Traditionally, measurements are taken in the English numeral system, in inches (1 inch = 25.4 mm). Rounding is done to the nearest whole number. For an adult bicycle, it varies between 24-29 inches, or 622-736 mm.
There are 2 ways to determine the wheel diameter:
- French (standard, on the outer edge of the tire);
- method according to ISO requirements (on the inside of the rim).
In many cases, the tire size is indicated in mm or inches.
