Like many others, I started my journey with the legendary “deshnik” who put on the teenage bike “Tisa”. Ultra-light (curb weight. 25 kg) motor transport with a maximum speed of 55 km / h, dynamics at the level of simple Chinese scooters, fuel consumption of 2 liters per 100 km (power reserve on one tank is 50 km), which does not stain at all with oil and does not smell of gasoline. In the author’s case, it heated up during welding to a red glow, which is not very good, since the steel can then become soft. However, after welding, the author poured water on the asterisk, it is quite possible that this will harden it. Also, water will not allow the shaft to overheat and melt important engine components.

Step three. Installing the driven sprocket
To install the driven sprocket, we need a drum brake part, which is screwed onto the wheel hub. We will weld a driven sprocket to it. This sprocket must be large in order to reduce the rpm of the wheel, turning it into high torque.

To begin with, center the sprocket with bolts and nuts, and then weld the parts. The author additionally secured the sprocket with two bolts and nuts to the spokes. We paint the asterisk so that it does not rust and looks beautiful.

The assembly of a motorbike is carried out according to the following algorithm:

  • put an asterisk on the rear bicycle wheel;
  • a clamp is used to fix the engine (with an asterisk on the shaft) on the frame behind the seat or on the trunk, if the design features of the bicycle allow, otherwise you will need to choose another convenient place for this purpose;
  • put a chain on the sprockets of the wheel and motor;
  • attach the tensioner;
  • adjust the chain tension;
  • fix the gas handle;
  • stretch a cable from it to the engine;
  • fix the fuel tank;
  • mount the carburetor.

For the purpose of personal safety during the operation of the motorbike, the braking system is modernized, the tires of the wheels are changed for non-slip products, the integrity and stability in motion of the created structure are checked. After the entire structure is assembled, it is tested, having previously examined for imperfections.

It is recommended to give preference to disc brakes.
