Instructions for installing the engine on a bike

How to install a motor on a regular bicycle with a triangular male frame with your own hands is described and shown in the following paragraphs of the instructions.

Installation of a choke and electrical equipment

The new throttle is installed on the right side of the handlebars as shown in Figure 8. Before installing on the handlebars, a 5mm hole must be drilled in the handlebar grip 125mm from the end to position the plastic mount. Be careful when installing the throttle. A switch is included with the throttle. Connect one switch to the black engine wire and the other to the blue engine wire. The engine stalls when the switch is pressed.

Install the clutch lever on the left side of the handlebar (Figure 9) and connect it as shown in Figure 10 and Figure 11.

Installation of a gas tank and additional equipment

Install the fuel filter valve to the fuel tank, and then install the gas tank itself. Install the fuel tank on the upper bike frame, as shown in Figure 12.

Install the ignition coil on the frame near the engine as shown in Figure 13 and connect the wires to the engine and to the switch: Blue to Blue, Black to Black. The white wire is a generator that has a maximum voltage of 5 A, 7.5 V. The white wire can be used for a 6 V lamp, if you connect a large load to this wire, you can damage the generator.

Install the chain tensioner as shown in Figure 14. Next, slide the chain onto the sprocket and onto the engine (Figure 15). Stretch the chain, but do not overtighten it. Then install the chain guard as shown in Figure 16.

Remove the carburetor cover and lay out all carburetor parts (Figure 17). Place the needle in the center of the carburetor caliper and place a slotted flat washer on the top of the needle. Make sure the slot aligns with the slot in the carburetor caliper as shown in Figure 18. Install the cable into the plastic chuck, then thread it through the carburetor cover and through the spring as shown in Figure 19.

Adjust the gap between the spark plug electrodes. It should be about 0.4-0.5mm.

The free play of the clutch handle should be 2-3 mm. This will ensure minimal clutch wear and prevent slipping. Adjust the required position of the clutch handle with the screws.

The engine in this kit is a gasoline, two-stroke. Powered by a mixture of fully synthetic oil and gasoline. The oil-gasoline mixture must be made and thoroughly mixed in a separate canister, in the proportion indicated below and then poured into the fuel tank.

Mixing ratio petrol-oil: 20: 1 (at the beginning of operation); 25: 1 (after 500 km).

The chain pitch of the T8F set (not to be confused with the bicycle one, there is 12.7 mm) is quite strong and does not make a lot of noise, although when installing a set with a long chain, it is advisable to additionally install a damper or chain tensioner. If you want to assemble a bike that can ride without a motor, just from the pedals, we recommend installing the driven sprocket on an overrunning clutch (freewheel, ratchet). This modification allows you to use the iron horse for its intended purpose in the event of a breakdown of the engine, drive, or simply running out of fuel in the tank.
